We Certified That
I just got back from Costa Rica. Six days on the water. Tow foiling. Warm water. Killer waves. The whole thing.
Honestly, it was amazing. I'm already planning the next trip.
But here's the thing nobody tells you about a trip like this.
The guides are incredible. They're on the water every single day and they know exactly where to put you. What they're not great at is email. They're not going to walk you through the details ahead of time because they're too busy being great at the thing you're paying them to do.
So you show up. And you figure it out as you go.
I moved rooms almost every night at the default hotel. I brought a padded shorty wetsuit I never needed because the water is so warm. I packed a hammer top that stayed in my bag the entire trip. I didn't know breakfast was included. I didn't know the famous black sand beaches were 15 miles away. I had to find the good restaurants on my own. I booked my own excursions with no idea what was worth doing.
Foil sessions start early. 5:30, 6:30 in the morning. Most days you're off the water by 10 or 11, which leaves the whole afternoon to explore. And when we had two riders, it was one hour on, one hour off, one hour on. Not a problem. But it would have been nice to know that before I got there so I could plan around it with my travel partner.
None of that ruined the trip. The water was world class. The guides were the real deal. The experience was everything I wanted it to be.
But it could have been smoother.
That's what Half-Life Adventures is for.
When you book through us, we've already done the trip. We know which rooms to request. We know what to pack and what to leave at home. We'll have a restaurant list, an excursion list, and a breakdown of how the sessions work so nothing catches you off guard.
You won't wonder how good the instructor is. You won't wonder if the wave is worth the flight. You won't spend the first two days figuring out logistics that should have been handled before you landed.
We've been there. We tested it. We certified it.
You just show up and ride.
We're building out our first destinations now. Costa Rica is dialed. Maui, Chicama, Gorge, and more are on the way. If there's a trip you've been thinking about, tell us where you want to go.
