The Season Isn't Waiting
I keep having the same conversation.
Somebody calls about a foil setup or writes in after watching one of the videos and we start talking gear. But ten minutes in, the conversation always turns. It's not really about the board or the wing or which front foil matches their weight. It's about the fact that they moved to a new city three years ago and haven't found anyone to get on the water with. Or they travel for work and have two free hours in the morning but no idea where to go or who to call. Or their buddy who used to do everything with them stopped showing up and now the gear just sits in the garage.
I hear some version of this almost every week.
Here is something nobody talks about.
The hardest part of staying active as you age is not your body. It's not motivation. It's not even time. It's that the world gets smaller. The guys who used to be up for anything start declining. Weekends fill up with kids' schedules and obligations. You look around one day and realize the crew that used to just happen now takes real effort to maintain. And most people quietly stop trying.
That is exactly what Half-Life exists to push back against.
The season is less than 50 days out. Time has shifted.
It takes a bit for my body to adjust; a step backward for morning light; a step forward for longer afternoons to exercise after work. Trails are starting to dry. Water temps are thinking about turning. The light is lasting longer every single week. And all of that matters, but none of it matters as much as having somebody to share it with. A guy who knows the local breaks. Someone who will meet you at the trailhead at 6am without needing to be convinced. A crew that does not need a reason beyond:
"the conditions are good, you in?"

La Ventana just wrapped. What's next?
People have been reaching out about trips. Some of you are already locked in. If you've been on the fence, here's what's still on the board:
Costa Rica: 3/21 - 3/26 (Tow Foil)
Maui (Spring): dates TBD (Tow/Prone/Wing Foil and Pickleball)
Gorge: July 2026 (Wing Foil, Mountain Bike, Golf)
Chicama: 9/27 - 10/3, 2026 (Tow Foil)
Maui (Fall): dates TBD
We want to make it as easy as possible for you to show up, ride, and have the experience of a lifetime without worrying about the logistics. Reach out to us!
That's our job. Your job is to block the calendar.

If you're looking for more connection… we're building something for that. I'm not ready to say more yet but it is closer than you think. For now, I will just say this. If you are the kind of person who has ever been in a city with two free hours and no one to call, we see you. That problem has a solve. Stay close.
The season is not waiting. And neither are we.
All the best,
-Tim
