The People Who Matter
Looking Back:
The best mornings of 2025 started the same way. A text. Then ten minutes later, water.
That's what I have with Eric and John. We've got it down to a science. No long planning threads. No back and forth about timing. Just a message, a response, and we're on the lake before the day has a chance to get complicated.
There's something about those early sessions. The crispness. The freshness. The water still glassy before the wind picks up. It's the kind of thing that's hard to explain to people who don't chase it, but if you know, you know.
I'd add Tim B to that list too. He's a regular for Half-Life lessons, and the mornings I've spent with him, Eric, and John have done more for me than I can put into words. They refresh me. They keep me excited about foiling. They jump start the day in a way nothing else does.
That's what I'm most grateful for this year. Not any single trip or session. The people who make those sessions happen.
Looking Ahead:
2026 is already shaping up.
Eric and I are heading to La Ventana to kite, wing foil, free dive, mountain bike, and ride quads.
John and I will undoubtedly end up in Maui for tow-in foil, foil drive in the surf, and some much-needed chill time.
Tim B is coming with me on a tow-in adventure in Costa Rica.
It's going to be a great year. And it's going to be great because of the people I get to do it with.
